The Loveland-Symmes Fire Department (LSFD) was awarded grant funding through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program to purchase a Mobile Breathing Air Trailer.
AFG, which is a division of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), assists first responders with funding for critical equipment and training.
The AFG program provided 90% of the funding for a new Responder 25D (Mobile Breathing Air Trailer) from Breathing Air Systems, Inc. The Responder 25D provides a diesel-powered breathing air compressor, stored air, portable scene lighting, a generator, storage for spare cylinders, and protection from the elements while working outdoors.
LSFD will now be capable of refilling breathing air cylinders for firefighters while on the scene of critical incidents. The Responder 25D will bring critical resources to emergency scenes, which will improve the services that LSFD can provide to the community.
