Loveland Seeks Citizens to Fill Committee Openings
LOVELAND, OHIO (November 17, 2025) — Citizens who wish to be considered for any Board, Commission, or Committee must complete an application and submit it to Misty Clark, Clerk of Council, by Monday, December 1.
Applications are available online at https://lovelandoh.gov/FormCenter or at City Hall (120 W. Loveland Avenue). Committee members must live in the City of Loveland. Applications are being accepted for the following Boards, Commissions, and Committees:
Arts Commission: Establish guidelines and oversee public art displays as well as promote and involve the community in visual and performing arts. The commission meets as needed. Two-year term.
Beautification Committee: Beautify Loveland through design, organization, and implementation of plantings that enhance the appeal of the city. This committee meets quarterly. Two-year term.
Board of Tax Review: Examine and make recommendations pertaining to changes in the tax code. This board meets as needed. Two-year term.
Board of Zoning Appeals: Hear and determine appeals from decisions of the Administrative Officer and requests from variances from building and zoning regulations. This board meets as needed. Three-year term.
Civil Service Commission: Establish the method and procedures for determining merit and fitness for employment and promotion in the classified service and such other matters relating to classified employment service. This Commission meets as needed. Three-year term.
Community Improvement Corporation: Advance, encourage, and promote the industrial, economic, commercial, and civic development of the city. The CIC meets as needed. Two-year term.
Finance Commission: Provides oversight of the annual operating budget and makes recommendations to City Council. Acts in an advisory capacity in matters pertaining to short- and long-range financial policy matters and funding. Reviews the city’s investment policy. The commission meets quarter with weekly meetings during budget season. Three-year term.
Fire Department Board of Trustee Representative: Address issues pertaining to the fire department and make decisions that help guide the organization. The Board meets quarterly. Two-year term.
Hill-Wagoner Cemetery Preservation Committee: Advise City Council on the preservation, general operation, and maintenance of the Hill-Wagnor Cemetery. The committee meets as needed. Three-year term.
Historic Preservation Planning Commission: Members of this committee are knowledgeable about historic preservation and building repairs. The committee meets as needed. Two-year term.
Law and Ordinance Committee: Review proposed laws and ordinances for clarity, accuracy, and legality prior to Council consideration. This committee meets as needed at the request of City Council. Two-year term.
Lighting District Equalization Boards: This Board hears objections filed by property owners to their proposed lighting assessments. This board meets as needed. Two-year term.
Parks and Recreation Board: Provides oversight for the development maintenance, and operation of park and recreational facilities and programs for the city. The committee meets as needed. Three-year term.
Planning and Zoning Commission: Recommend and/or determine matters related to zoning, exercise land use code duties and powers, planning or subdivision control, hearing, recommending various zoning district boundaries, make and adopt comprehensive plan. The Commission meets monthly. Three-year term.
Storm Water Committee: Members see that the city is maintaining its storm water plan to help provide cleaner streams and rivers. This committee meets as needed. Two-year term.
Tax Incentive Review Council: Reviews all tax abatements granted pursuant to the city’s regulations. Two-year term.
Tree and Environment Committee: Recommends the development of policies and promotes practices that provide environmental prosperity in our community. This committee meets monthly. Two-year term.
Veterans Committee: Assists in the planning of the Memorial Day Ceremony. Plans and oversees the creation of new memorials and promotes the sale of Veteran banners and paver inscriptions at the Veterans Memorial. This committee meets as needed. Two-year term.
