As part of the preparations for Loveland’s 150th anniversary in 2026, the Sesquicentennial Committee issued a Call for Art earlier this year inviting the community to help redesign the City of Loveland flag.
Loveland artists—those who live or work in the city and were at least 18 years old—were encouraged to submit up to three original flag designs. All artwork had to be an original creation
The contest was led by Committee Members Gina Dubell Smith and Debby Combs, with additional support from Committee Member Peter Sexton, who assisted with color matching to ensure the design aligned with the city’s branding.
We received an outstanding response, with 68 designs being submitted.
After careful review, the Sesquicentennial Committee selected the winning design by Arianna Wilson.
Arianna titled her design “The Heart Land.” She shared that her inspiration came from the scenic views along the Loveland Bike Trail and the Little Miami Scenic River, noting that “it is clear we put our heart into preserving the history and beauty of our land.”
We are excited to unveil her design as part of our upcoming sesquicentennial celebration and thank all artists who contributed their creativity to this important milestone.
