[ARCHIVED] City of Loveland’s Independence Day Celebration Returns

Independence Day

The City of Loveland is pleased to announce the return of its Independence Day event.

“We missed our usual celebration in 2020 because of the pandemic. It’s exciting to have our full event with the parade and entertainment return this year,” said Mayor Kathy Bailey. “We want to invite everyone to visit Loveland to celebrate with us!”

The event will be held Sunday, July 4 in Downtown Loveland with many of the activities taking place in Nisbet Park.

A kid zone with rides, inflatable games, face painting, performers and more will occur 4-6:30 p.m. in Nisbet Park, followed by a parade at 7 p.m.

The parade will leave from Loveland Elementary School (600 Loveland Madeira Road), turn on West Loveland Avenue, and travel through the downtown district, ending at the intersection of State Route 48 and East Loveland Avenue.

The Bluewater Kings Band will perform from 8-10 p.m. at the Nisbet Park Amphitheater. The band specializes in high-energy music, and a six-piece ensemble will perform popular songs.

The fireworks display will begin at 10 p.m. and be visible across the city.

In addition, food trucks will be at the event. Visitors can also enjoy the city’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA).

Parking shuttles will be transporting eventgoers continuously from 4-11 p.m. Shuttle pick-up locations will be at Loveland High School (1 Tiger Trail) and the Loveland Early Childhood Center (6740 Loveland-Miamiville Road). Drop-off locations will be at Riverside Drive and Third Street. Please note eventgoers will need to walk to the festivities from the drop-off locations.

If you or your organization would like to be in the parade, registration is open through June 30. Please register online.

The City of Loveland would like to thank the event sponsors. Brown’s Crossing at Jackson Street Market, Loveland-Symmes Fire Department, Brittney Frietch Team/ReMax, McCluskey Chevrolet, and Oasis Turf & Tree sponsored the fireworks display. The city would also like to thank Bond Furniture & Design, Landing Event Center, Loveland Lofts, McCabe Lumber, Mike’s Carwash, Paxton’s Grill, Powder Alloy Corporation, Ramsey’s Trailside, and Workhorse for sponsoring the parade and activities.
