[ARCHIVED] Recognizing Leo Joseph Riehle, Jr. Day


Mayor Kathy Bailey proclaimed December 16, 2021, as Leo Joseph Riehle, Jr. Day — his 90th birthday. 

Leo Joseph Riehle, Jr. was born on December 16, 1931, in Milford. Leo was drafted into the United States Army in 1952 during the Korean war; serving from 1952 – 1954 as a Corporal and worked on heavy artillery while serving in Korea. He is the only member of the Loveland American Legion, Post 256, to serve during the Korean War.

After serving his country, Leo worked as a carpenter, building homes. 

Leo and his wife Annette have been married for 65 years and have been blessed with three sons, three daughters, 13 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. They belong to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Leo enjoys spending time with his family and going out for meals with his wife. He also enjoys visiting with his fellow veterans at the Loveland American Legion
