The Loveland-Symmes Fire Department was honored with an EMS Star of Life Award at a May 24 ceremony in Columbus, Ohio.
The award comes during National EMS Week, May 21-27.
The EMS Star of Life Awards recognize outstanding achievements and honor those in Ohio’s emergency medical services system whose accomplishments rise above the day-to-day excellence of the system.
In September 2022, LSFD was called to the Loveland Commerce Park. They cared for a critical-level trauma patient, who was hurt in an industrial accident. The patient was experiencing multiple lacerations and major blood loss. Thanks to LSFD’s emergency medical services, the patient’s life was saved.
“Loveland is very fortunate to have a top-notch EMS crew. We appreciate you, your skills, and the professionalism of the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department,” stated Mayor Kathy Bailey.
The EMS Star of Life Awards are presented by the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians; the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services; and the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Medical Services.
