The City of Loveland hosted its annual Independence Day Celebration on Tuesday, July 4. The event featured a kid zone, concert, parade, and fireworks.
Several new activities were added this year including:
- Water splash zone
- Pie eating contest
- Yankee Doodle dog parade
- Bingo
The kid zone hosted fun for all ages. Visitors enjoyed a meet-and-greet with FC Cincinnati member Ian Murphy, games, a reptile petting zoo, princesses & superheroes, glitter tattoos, the Loveland High School Robotics Team, martial arts & dance/gymnastics demos, photo opportunities, the Loveland Frog, and more. Live entertainment included drum performances by Loveland Rocks Music Lessons and a sway pole performer. A sway pole is a new extreme cirque act with aerial pole acrobatics.
SAW Pilates acted as the Grand Marshal for this year’s parade, which had more than 50 entries. A variety of groups participated —local scout troops, music acts, the Syrian Shriners’ mini Corvettes, and community businesses — to name just a few.
Pandora Effect performed at the Nisbet Park Amphitheater. This six-piece rock cover band kept the crowd dancing and moving all evening long to hits from Joan Jett to Journey.
