[ARCHIVED] Election Update

Election Update

In accordance with the City Charter, the organizational meeting to seat the newly elected City Council was scheduled for December 1, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.

The City is aware that, while provisional ballots are still being counted, current results indicate an automatic recount will be required by the Boards of Election in Hamilton, Warren, and Clermont Counties. Election Day results show that Councilmember John Hart has been re-elected, and the remaining three council seats fall within the 0.5% threshold that triggers a recount.

A recount cannot begin until after each county certifies its results, which must occur by November 25, 2025. Once certified, each Board of Election has ten days to complete the recount.

Given this timeline, the December 1 organizational meeting may need to be rescheduled to ensure the recount process is completed, and the appropriate individuals can be formally seated on City Council.

We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
