Captain Gangwer joined LPD in 2023. Previously, he served at the Kettering Police Department for nearly 30 years. He has experience in field training, SWAT, and bike patrol. He is also a rangemaster and weapons instructor/armorer. As a supervisor, he has led operations in patrol, jail, court, community relations, investigations, and dispatch. Captain Gangwer graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Police Administration.
