The City of Loveland will host a public engagement event on Thursday, Aug. 26 to discuss the Loveland-Madeira Road Corridor. The event will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, 1401 Loveland-Madeira Road, from 6-8 p.m.
The city is drafting a Comprehensive Master Development Plan. A vital part of the plan is the revitalization of the Loveland-Madeira Road Corridor. The area has potential to become a catalyst for more bike and pedestrian connectivity.
“Our downtown district gets a lot of attention, and we want to bring that attention to Loveland-Madeira Road,” said Tom Smith, Assistant City Manager. “How can we bring the charm of Downtown Loveland to this main corridor? How can we help our businesses along Loveland-Madeira and help spur economic development?”
The Comprehensive Master Development Plan Steering Committee has prepared several concepts for the use of vacant land and the installment of safe and convenient pathways along Loveland-Madeira. The committee will present its concepts, seeking feedback to help move the plan forward. The committee is seeking input on various topics such as:
- Sidewalk expansion
- Crosswalk and traffic lights
- Signage
- Street trees and furniture
- Pedestrian lighting
