Natural Gas Aggregation

Natural Gas IconIn 2024, the city selected a new supplier (Direct Energy) for its natural gas aggregation program for a 12-month fixed rate fee with an additional 12-month renewal option.  The City recently accepted the new 12-month rate of $0.594/Ccf to begin in April 2025.  The goal of the aggregation program is to cumulatively beat the price offered by the local utility (Duke Energy).

Opt-out notices are sent every two years by state law. The notices will inform existing customers that service will continue with Direct Energy unless the resident opts out. There will be no interruption in service. Newly eligible customers will receive a letter informing them that their account will be added unless they opt-out. Residents can leave the program at any time with no early termination fee. 

All notices mailed by Direct Energy will feature the City of Loveland logo. Sample copies of these letters are provided below:
